	New Branch Opened
	11.06.2007

On October 30th, 2007 the Kalashpar Nalitabari Branch officially opened. There was a ceremony with the Zonal Manager, Area Manager, and many of the surrounding Branch Managers attending. As well, local council president and the local school principals attended and spoke at the event. The families from the two groups that have been formed came along. Several of the women recieved their first loans. One of my favorite women is Melanchu. She is the chairwoman of group number 1. She is 20 years old and has been married since she was 13. She has two sons and her husband is a farm hand. She is very sharp, but shy. She really is one of the neediest of the group. Her house is a straw thatched home with just a bed and some cook wear and a large supply of rice. They bought a cow with their first loan.
